Alexandrite Laser Hair Removal

In the area of long-duration hair removal, it is now clear that the laser is the solution of the future. Indeed, while electric hair removal is still very useful, it takes much longer and is much more painful, and therefore less suited to most people.

The LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) sends a 'concentration' of light, the energy of which will destroy the hair during its growth phase.

Sufficient power is essential in order to destroy the target to a sufficient depth. Not all lasers are up to the task and many treatment failures are due to this technical aspect only. Ideally, the laser effect works perfectly on light skins with black or dark brown hairs. The lighter the hairs, the less effective this type of laser is. Altogether, three treatment sessions at intervals of one or two months, followed by between two and three consolidation sessions during the course of the year, followed by a possible yearly maintenance session are needed.

Difficulties (resistance to the treatment) can be encountered with men, with very deeply rooted hairs on the one hand, but also very small hairs as well, containing little melanin, and also in very young patients where hair growth is very active.

Laser hair removal also gives an extremely soft feel to the skin.

Finally, the laser is the definitive tool for getting rid of hairs beneath the skin that cause multiple small painful and unsightly abscesses following the other types of hair removal.
